Op is one of most important Sehgal Remedies which is commonly used in Sehgal method.

Nervous system

Apathy

  • Apathetic depression / Torpidity
  • Painlessness, Insensibility of the nervous system
  • Stupor / Depression / Apathy / Great drowsiness (Gels, Nux-m)
  • Torpor / General sluggishness / Profound coma / Inactivity as a general characteristic


Tetanus

  • Spasms from fright or after fright of wet nurse
  • Tetanic rigidity ushered in with a loud shriek, foaming at mouth, dark red face and hot sweat.
  • Deep snoring sleep follows.


Alternating states

  • Op has alternating confusion and consciousness.
  • It is a remedy with alternating state / Opposite states (Med)


Eyes

  • Delirious talking + Wide open eyes
  • Pupils Dilated / Insensible / Contracted
  • Ptosis (Gels, Caust)
  • Sleep apnea: Esp on going to sleep. He must be shaken to start it again (Grind)


Modalities

  • Heat agg
  • Agg during and after sleep (Apis, Lach)
  • Better by cold things
  • Amel by constant walking
  • Diseases that originate from fright. (Vertigo/ Menses suppression )
    • Looks intoxicated/ Besotted (Bapt, Lach)
    • Occiput headache (Gels)


CVA

  • Consider Alum and Op in stroke with confusion and cerebral congestion.
  • Op is the main remedy. Alum, Phos, Plb complete the cerebral effects of OP in stroke (Alum ₳ Op)
  • Painless paralysis (Oleand)
  • Limb paralysis: Unilateral paralysis of the limbs, esp right

    EXTREMITIES - PARALYSIS - hemiplegia - right

Sympathetic / Parasympathetic paralysis

  • Fecal incontinence (Rectal paralysis, Sphincter)
  • Heart, lungs
  • Diaphragm paralysis caused by PLV


GI tract

Abdomen

  • The abdomen is distended but has no power to expel its contents.
  • Painful flatulence in upper part of the bowels and causes great pain.
  • Distended abdomen but has no power to expel its contents.

Constipation

  • Constipation of good-humored corpulent women and children.
  • Obstinate constipation; No desire to go to stool, Want of sensibility (Alum ₳ Op)
  • Feces protrude and recede (Thuj, Sil)
  • Hard, dark brown, small pieces. (Bry ₳ Op), (Op ₳ Plb)
  • Constipation due to abuse of enemas.
  • Intestinal obstruction with fecal vomiting + violent colic.
  • Intestinal sluggish so that the strongest purgatives lose their power.
  • Bowel inactivity due to cerebral complications esp in old people
  • Retention of stools because of intestinal paresis.
  • Constipation + Colic due to pressure of a gravid uterus or abdominal tumor.

Paralytic Ileus


Cholera infantum

  • Fatally advancing stupor, pupils sluggish
  • The disease involves the brain, child appears as if it had been drugged
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatally advancing stupor: Child appears as if it had been drugged.

Bry

Constipation with inertia of rectum, stools large and dry.

Plb

  • Stools is hard, black balls with some constriction of rectum.

Alum

  • Inertia of rectum, stools soft.


Children

  • OP is a child who has experienced drowsiness, narcolepsy,
  • Withdrawal experiences
  • Feelings of threat following panic.
  • Op is a liar and likes to hide things
  • Spasms from fright
  • Tetanic rigidity starts in with a loud shriek, foaming at mouth, Dark / Red face + Hot sweat, then follows with Deep snoring sleep


Typhoid Fever / States

  • Profound congestion resulting from cerebral paralysis
  • Loud stertorous breathing
  • Dropping of the lower jaw
  • Paralysis of the sweat glands
  • Involuntary stools
  • Perspiring body is burning hot
  • Lach is a good DD for Op esp in Typhoid fever with threatened paralysis of the brain.


Cough

  • Spasmodic dry cough
  • Esp tormenting at night with scanty expectoration, which prevent sleep
  • Never give Op in cough with profuse expectoration
  • Hoarseness with dry mouth and throat
  • Slow full pulse.
  • Suppuration of the lungs in those addicted to intoxicating liquors, the face is blue during cough.


Skin

  • Very troublesome itching all over, redness, skin hot and damp or sweating
  • Sudden recurrent acute eruptions


Fever

  • Intermittent fever, drowsiness during chill, stupidity as fever comes on, unconsciousness.
  • Puerperal fever from fright.
  • Shaking chill with deep soporous sleep.
  • Complains that the bed is too hot, bed feels so hot he cannot lie on it.


Miasms

  3. RBS, PLV, EEE/ WEE


Delirium tremens

  • Esp in old sinners where the constitution is destroyed.
  • The face wears the expression of fright or terror, visions of animals are present.
  • The least amount of alcohol makes him worse.
  • The threatened apoplexy of drunkards also suggests its use, with occiput heavy like lead, numbness, free sweat, paralysis of tongue, difficult articulation and swallowing.
  • Stupor/ Coma / Stertorous respiration, contracted pupils, slow, feeble respiration, sweaty skin and diminished reflex irritability, the purple face, swollen from the distension of the blood vessels (it may even be of mahogany color, brownish hue), the muscular relaxation


Lach

  • Illusion of snakes, hideous objects
  • Throat symptoms such as choking
  • Spring out of sleep suddenly as if he had a dream


Cann-i

  • Errors in time and space, things at the other end of the room seem thousands of miles off and it seems as it it would take days to walk there( A minute seems a thousand years

Ars

Neurogenic bladder
