Apraxia of eyelid closure is a rarely encountered symptom associated with CNS disorders.^[1] It is the inability to close the eyes on command with preserved ability to close eyes voluntarily and keep them closed at other times. The patients suffering from this disorder have an adequate understanding of the command, an elementary ability to carry it out with the normal orbicularis oculi muscle, as well as an adequate alertness, and language comprehension.^[2] The preferential loss of volitional eyelid closure with an intact reflex and spontaneous eyelid closure was reported to be seen in progressive supranuclear palsy, CJD, ALS, Post-stroke apraxia of eyelid closure, Huntington's disease, autopsy-confirmed vascular progressive supranuclear palsy, and chronic progressive spinobulbar spasticity with disturbance of voluntary eyelid closure.
