Fear, Anxiety, and Phobia
- It is a Mind Rubric
- Fear is a natural emotional response to an immediate or perceived threat, preparing the body to react to danger.
- Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about a possible future threat, often without a clear or immediate cause. While fear is usually triggered by a specific danger, anxiety may persist even when no direct threat is present. A phobia is an intense, persistent, and disproportionate fear of a particular object, situation, or activity. Unlike ordinary fear, a phobia can cause significant distress and lead to avoidance of the feared stimulus. In short, fear is a response to danger, anxiety is anticipation of possible danger, and phobia is an excessive fear that interferes with daily life.
