Clinic
- It is an infection of the small intestine by some strains of the bacterium Vibrio cholerae.
- It is an infection Gastroenteritis / Diarrhea
Signs / Symptoms
- Profuse diarrhea (Rice water)
- Vomiting of clear fluid
- Fever is rare
- Lethargy / Sunken eyes/ Dry mouth/ Cold clammy skin/ Wrinkled hands and feet due to dehydration
- Kussmaul breathing, due to acidosis
- Hypotention
- Muscle cramping and weakness,
- Altered consciousness, Seizures, or even Coma due to electrolyte imbalances are common
