Autoimmune hemolytic anemia
AIHA occurs due to IgG and IgM antibodies directed against the person's own red blood cells (RBCs) .It might be a precursor of later onset systemic lupus erythematosus. Spherocytes are found in immunologically-mediated hemolytic anemias.
The causes are poorly understood. The most common causes are
- Chronic lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma
- Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
