Clinic

  • It is a disease of the muscle in which the muscle fibers do not function properly, therefore results in muscular weakness
  • Muscle Cramps / Stiffness / Spasm / Tetany can also be associated with myopathy.
  • Muscular disease can be classified as neuromuscular or musculoskeletal in nature.
  • Some conditions, such as myositis, can be considered both neuromuscular and musculoskeletal.

Acquired

  • Statin-associated autoimmune myopathy


Myocardium / cardio-myopathy

Onset in adulthood

  • Inflammatory myopathies – polymyositis, dermatomyositis, inclusion body myositis, viral (HIV)
  • Infectious myopathies


Entities

  • Myopathy : CMV
  • Myositis: DHF, INFL, RTV, VZV
  • General Myositis: CXA, CXB, ECHO
  • Dermatomyositis: CXA, CXB, ECHO, WNE
