- Teething is a natural process in which an infant’s first teeth emerge through the gums, usually beginning around six months of age. Common symptoms include sore or swollen gums, drooling, irritability, and a desire to chew on objects. Gentle gum massage, a clean chilled teething ring, and appropriate pain relief recommended by a healthcare professional may help ease discomfort.
- In traditional homeopathic practice, Chamomilla is associated with marked irritability and restlessness, Calcarea carbonica with delayed teething, and Phytolacca with painful gum symptoms. High fever, significant diarrhea, or a very unwell infant should not be attributed to teething and requires medical assessment.
