Clinic
- BFS is characterized by fasciculation (twitching) of voluntary muscles
- It can occur in any voluntary muscle group Esp in eyelids, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet and Tongue.
- Twitching may be occasional to continuous.

- Generalized fatigue or weakness
- Paraesthesia / Numbness
- Muscle Cramping / Spasms /Stiffness (In presence of severe cramp, the syndrome named as Cramps fasciculation syndrome)
- Cramp fasciculation syndrome is a variant of BFS which presents with muscle pain and exercise intolerance.
- Anxiety / Somatic symptom disorders and symptoms are commonly reported.

Causes
- The precise cause of BFS is unknown
Related disease
- BFS and the variant cramp fasciculation syndrome can be regarded as part of a larger spectrum of disease that also incorporates acquired auto-immune neuromyotonia.
- Motor neuron diseases (MND) such as ALS, neuropathy, and spinal cord diseases.
