Clinic

• Inflammation of the thyroid gland which has two stages initially:

1. Acutely thyroid cells are damaged therefore the thyroid hormone released excessively within the bloodstream causing symptoms of thyrotoxicosis
2. In the second stage, there is thyroid gland insufficiency / Hypothyroidism

• Autoimmune disease: APS-2, Hashimoto's thyroiditis
• Drug-induced thyroiditis
• Radiation-induced thyroiditis,
• Postpartum thyroiditis
• Subacute thyroiditis
• Silent thyroiditis
• Acute thyroiditis
• Riedel's thyroiditis
