Clinic

  • Psychosis is difficulties determining what is real and what is not real.
  • The neurotransmitter dopamine is believed to play an important role.

An entity or a disease?

  • I think it is an entity which has Impaired insight, Hallucination and Delusions as a sign.
  • Most of psychotic patients has Hallucination / Delusions but it dose not means that Psychosis equals to them.
  • Temporal Lobe epilepsy is a good example in which the patients have hallucinations, but they usually aware that their hallucinations are not real, so they are not categorized as psychotics.
  • Hallucinatory disease is another example of patient who have only hallucination but not psychosis.
  • On the other hand, it is possible to see some psychotic patient, who does not have Delusion.

Sign/ Symptoms
