- α (alfa) which includes HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus), HSV-2 (Herpes Simplex Virus ) and Varicella zoster virus (VZV)
- β (beta) Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Human herpes type 6 (HHV-6) and Human herpesvirus type 7 (HHV-7)
- γ (gamma) Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and Human herpes type 8 (HHV-8)
