Definition
- Ability to befoul others like a wolf in sheep's skin by hiding the cruel realities about himself, and showing of having all the virtues appreciated publicly.
- It refers to the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform. It's essentially saying one thing and doing another, especially when it comes to matters of morality or ethics.
- Here are some ways to explain it in simpler terms:
- Saying you believe in something but acting the opposite way. For example, someone who publicly condemns lying but then lies themselves.
- Pretending to have virtues or principles that you don't actually possess. Someone who acts like they care about the poor but never helps them.
- Criticizing others for doing things that you yourself do. Someone who complains about others being late but is frequently late themselves.
