- It is one of common viral miasms.
- It causes Acute poliomyelitis which leads to Neural necrosis
- Also causes CSF pleocytosis which involves Anterior horn motor neurons of Spinal cord and brain stem (Bulbar Paralysis)
- Spasm
- Involuntary muscle spasm
- Seizure
- Fasciculation
- Severe painful
General Aggravation in spring and summer.

Post-polio syndrome
- PPS is a group of latent symptoms of poliomyelitis occurring at about a 25–40% rate (latest data greater than 80%).
- Typically occur 15 to 30 years after an initial acute paralytic attack.
- Symptoms include
- Decreasing muscular function / Acute weakness with
- Pain and fatigue
- Problems breathing or swallowing
- Sleep-related breathing disorders, such as sleep apnea, and
- Decreased tolerance for cold temperatures
- Slight jitter exhibited in handwriting.
