Sinusitis

CSinusitis is an inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, the air-filled spaces around the nose, eyes, and forehead. It commonly develops following a viral upper respiratory infection, but may also be associated with allergies or bacterial infections. Typical symptoms include nasal congestion, thick nasal discharge, facial pain or pressure, headache, and reduced sense of smell. Acute sinusitis usually improves within a few weeks, while chronic sinusitis lasts for 12 weeks or longer. In traditional homeopathic materia medica, remedies such as Kali bichromicum, Pulsatilla, Hepar sulphuris, Silicea, and Mercurius solubilis are associated with different patterns of sinus complaints.

Nasal Polyp: Lem-m	A nasal polyp  in a nasal cavity blocks the normal drainage of discharge. The collected discharge thus acts as a pool for infection-causing agents, leading to sinusitis.
